日米両政府は「２プラス２」で在日米軍再編の最終報告に合意し、日本は閣議決定した。在沖米海兵隊約８千人のグアム移転、普天間基地の移設など、すべての再編を２０１４年までに完了させるとのこと。再編によって在日米軍と自衛隊との連携が進み、日米同盟は「新たな段階に入る」とも宣言された。
しかし、日本は今こそ憲法９条の精神を忘れてはならない。日本の未来像を示唆する米軍再編、沖縄問題、日米同盟等々をテーマに語り合い、自分たちに何が出来るのかを考える一歩にしたい。
